Formally known as the Bathurst Chamber Music Festival, the ClassikFest Chaleur began in 2012 as a project by local musicians Ariane Saulnier and David Scott. The 2025 edition of the festival will take place in Bathurst from August 12-17.
Since then, the festival has presented a many concerts throughout the Chaleur region. The festival was born out of a vision to transform the greater Bathurst area into a hub for classical music in New Brunswick's picturesque Chaleur Region.
Tuesday, August 12 at 12 pm - Festival Launch (free): Meet our musicians, explore the museum, and enjoy live demos at the Bathurst Heritage Museum (360 Douglas Ave.)
Tuesday, August 12 at 7 pm - Movie Night: Amadeus (free): Experience the Oscar-winning film about Mozart and Salieri at the Bathurst Heritage Museum (360 Douglas Ave.)
Wednesday, August 13 at 7 pm - Echoes in the Ether: Immerse yourself in a program of soothing, ambient classical works for piano and strings - a soundscape where gentle echoes drift through the ether, inviting calm and contemplation. Saturday, August 16 at 7 pm- Mozart Reimagined: This concert reimagines Mozart's masterworks for new ensembles, transforming symphonies and operas into fresh interpretations for smaller groups.
